Mont Avic Extreme SkyTrail, pre-booking opens on May 15
3 stages, 250 teams: the new international event in the Aosta Valley

Three trail running stages, an international pairs racing event, plus the awarding of the King of the Mountain title. The Aosta Valley hosts Mont Avic Extreme SkyTrail, an unprecedented event in the smallest Italian region. Launched in June last year, the event is now ready to start thanks to the Mont Avic Events sports club (President Paola Péaquin) and to the close cooperation of Pierra Menta Été EDF, the summer version of the very popular ski mountaineering competition.

From 29 September to 1 October (new dates) the attention will shift to Champdepraz, a small town in Southern Aosta Valley surrounded by Mont Avic Natural Park and its beautiful landscapes, flora and fauna. Elements that for three days will accompany the trail runners participating in the first edition of Mont Avic Event SkyTrail.

The race will last three days and three stages for a total of 67 kilometres and a cumulative elevation gain of 6,000 metres. Three trails created by Dennis Brunod to plough through every path that will make it possible to discover and observe the spectacular area of Champdepraz and some parts of nearby Champorcher and Issogne. The first stage of Mount de Panaz is 26 km with 2,250 metres CEG, the second stage to the Grand Lac (23 km – 2,100 CEG) and the third one to Mount Barbeston (18 km 1,550 CEG). A team race wanted and chosen by the organisers to evoke the feeling of mountain trips and convey a message of safety.

Mont Avic Extreme SkyTrail is a competition that will broaden its horizons and open its doors to everyone. A trade exhibition has already been confirmed with the presence of the best companies in the sector, as well as a series of related events for all visitors, children and adults. On Saturday, September 30, the event will also involve children with the first edition of Baby SkyTrail: two trails of 550 metres and 1,100 metres near the headquarters of the event, in Covarey.

The Italian and French events, scheduled for June 30 to July 2 in Arêches-Beaufort, will also be used to determine the ranking for the Mountain Trail Trophy, calculated by adding the total time of the two races. The Mont Avic Extreme SkyTrail competition is not open to minors and it will accept 500 people (250 pairs) at the most. Registration opens on May 15 and closes on July 15. After that (15 June – 15 July), it must be confirmed by the payment of the registration fee. All registration procedures will be handled by the Wedosport portal.

Two different options and participation fees: team registration with accommodation (3 nights half board, 6 lunches and other benefits for two people) for €700, or just registration, lunches and benefits (no hotel accommodation) for €400.

Also, the new website has been online for a while now (, there you can find all information, planimetries and photographs of the trails. InVda will be present during the days of the competition to offer live streaming of the event, there will also be Top Italia Radio and photographers from Pantacolor that will provide for free photos of each participant.
